Building FAQs

1. How are the buildings set up?
	Each ActivSpace facility is unique in some way. Most buildings have an elevator for easy access to upper floors. Each building is secured (usually with a card-key access system), and includes off-street parking.
2. Can I have visitors?
	While our buildings are not permitted for retail use, guests and clients are welcome in your space.
3. Can I live in the space?
	That's absolutely NOT possible... Don't even try.
4. What activities are not allowed in ActivSpace buildings?
	We do not allow any activity that is prohibited by law or city regulations, or that may harm the facility or neighboring customers. These activities include auto repair, welding, home-brewing/distilling or raising fighting roosters.
5. How does parking work? What about my guests and clients?
	Our parking lots are small and are for permitted ActivSpace tenants only. Be sure to have your guests and clients find street parking as the lot is monitored.
6. Can I get mail? What happens if I get a package delivery?
	You can sign up for a mailbox, there is a monthly fee for use. UPS, FedEx and DHL are at the buildings frequently for pick-ups and drop-offs and will call up to your space from the intercom. You must be at the building to claim your packages.

Space FAQs

1. What are the spaces like?
	Each space has a private locking entrance and a large window. Inside you'll find heat, power, and phone/DSL outlets.
2. Will I have access to water?
	Yes. Many of our spaces include utility sinks.
3. What about telephone and DSL service?
	Each space is pre-wired for multiple phone lines and DSL service. Simply contact your provider for service. Now, some of our buildings have WiFi.
4. What activities are not allowed in ActivSpace buildings?
	We do not allow any activity that is prohibited by law or city regulations, or that may harm the facility or neighboring customers. These activities include auto repair, welding, home-brewing/distilling or raising fighting roosters.
5. Can my pet visit my space?
	Absolutely, as long as he or she is not left unattended. To be mindful of other customers, we have a leash policy in common areas.
6. Can I make noise? What about at three in the morning?
	Our facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can work and make noise anytime until you annoy your neighbor(s). At that point you need to resolve the situation with your neighbor(s).
7. What are the terms of the Rental Agreement?
	It is a very simple process. When you move in, we collect a refundable security deposit. We require a 30-day notice to vacate.
8. Can I live in the space?
	That's absolutely NOT possible... Don't even try.
9. How can I get more information about space?
	You can access information for every building from our "Locations" page, there you will find the email and phone number to contact the manager about the property you are interested in.
9. How do I expedite renting a space?
	Bring your checkbook, two monthly bills that are current have a zero balance, and a proof of residency when you come to see space.

Security FAQs

1. How are the buildings set up?

4. Can I leave my car or bike in the lot when I'm not there?
	You may use the parking lot and bike rack when you are working in your space.
5. How secure is my space?
	Each space is keyed with it's own lock, unique to that space. In reality your space is a safe as you make it - locks keep out honest people. Our best advice is to make sure your door and window are locked when you go home and that you report lost keys immediately. Take time to meet your neighbors so that everyone is aware who belongs in your space.

Community FAQs

1. Can I make noise? What about at three in the morning?
	Our facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can work and make noise anytime until you annoy your neighbor(s). At that point you need to resolve the situation with your neighbor(s).

5. Does each ActivSpace have a resident café?
	Many of our buildings are home to great cafes! Take a look at our locations to see if your desired location has sweets and treats onsite.

	Yes you can, but only in our extensively sound-proofed spaces at the Fremont and West Seattle locations in Seattle.
